In the Regional Museum of Goražde, from April 8th to 13th 2019, a specially designed program (Museum LAB)was held for people who work in museums and with museums.
The aim of this program was to offer participants, through lectures and practical work, additional knowledge in museum pedagogy, education, preventive conservation, communication, interpretation and graphic design.
The Museum LAB is part of the project “Regional museum of Goražde – community museum”, supported by the Headley Trust from Great Britain.
The training discussed the basics of conservation, the processes of decay of museum objects, decay and protection of inorganic and organic materials in museum collections, revival of heritage, the museum as a place of educational entertainment and other topics, as well as organized practical work on the collection of the Goražde regional museum. The educational program was consisted of practical work (70%) and theoretical lectures (30%) and led by experts in museum pedagogy, education, conservation and restoration, communication, interpretation and graphic design from BiH and the region.
During the program, participants worked on the preventive conservation of museum objects and their interpretation. They gained additional knowledge in designing programs and educational activities in order to involve the wider community.
