Authentic vernacular houses- Kullas in Drenoc village, the medieval monastery of Decani, Hadum Mosque, Mirusha waterfall, or the lakes of Plava are just some of the touristic spots that are part of tourist packages prepared by the students of the University “Haxhi Zeka” in Peja, the Department of Management, Tourism, Hospitality and Environment.
For two days, on 29th and 30th of November, students were part of a workshop organized by CHwB Kosovo on “Design and Brandin of Tourist Packages” with a focus on cultural heritage in the region of Dukagjini.
The workshop aimed at creating opportunities for students to get closely acquainted with historic sites that are potential for tourism development and in practice in order to be able to design tour packages. Senat Haliti, Orgesa Arifi and Sali Shoshi from CHwB Kosovo shared experiences about Touristic packages design, branding, promotion and sale of the product on the market. Students gained knowledge and various alternatives to develop their packages as tourist operators. Five different tourist packages then redesigned with various attractions, activities and awards, which are presented, discussed and commented among the attendees.
Ftesa Gaxherri, student of the 3rd year said: “The training was very effective and important for us. Many of the topics and presentations were new and interesting, which made this training even more attractive and special. With the help of lecturers, we were able to create topics and tourist packages and presented them in satisfactory levels. ” While Mërgim Ibra from the 2nd year added:” We needed to know more about practice so thank you and I encourage you to continue with other students.”.
